While en-route to Morocco this Spring, which was also one of our favorite inspirational travel destinations last year, we stopped in the beautiful city of Lisbon, Portugal.
Although we only had two days to admire all of the magnificent architecture and design details that were on offer, we will be inspired for a lifetime!
The city’s landscape is strongly influenced by it’s maritime and shipping heritage as well as it’s close proximity to Northern Africa – making it a truly eclectic cultural melting-pot.
The architecture and design also reflects a vast period in history; from Romanesque to Gothic to Classical. The wealth of the earlier centuries is clearly depicted in the opulent Palaces in Lisbon and Sintra.
We were particularly inspired by the intricate design details – some of which we captured in the pictures below. Hopefully we will have another chance to go back to get lost in Lisbon’s beauty once again, one day. But, until then…
